Every day, as we do the activities of our daily living, we see different kinds of persons like those we bump in the train as we go to work, vendors in the sidewalks, and party people in the bar or those souls in the cyberworld aiming to fulfil their thirsty hearts in search for companions or future partners.</span> In every, they say someone will come someday who will capture our hearts, the person whom we will feel that very complex emotion caused by attraction and chemical reactions, could bring us in the state of euphoria and intense pains as well; that thing we call love.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">The questions are: Do we have the choice to choose who? Is there a right love for all of us? Could we stop love from happening from the beginning? Indeed, love is mysterious, we will never know when, where or who. Having a heartbreak is not a joke. It may come into a scenario when we are not prepared. Many stumbles, fall into a deep black hole of emptiness or the worse, depression.<o:p></o:p></span><br /><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b><br /></b></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>First Question: “Do we have the choice to choose who to love?”</b><o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br />My answer to this is a big “NO”. As a Bisexual-turned-Homosexual, love does have no label. You could say that you were raised into a very philosophic, religious environment with teachings of the ideal and morally right way to love; never would you predict who you are going to be attracted in the future.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">In another scenario, we can choose to learn to love somebody but we could not really stop our hearts from feeling that intense emotion for someone. Believe me, not all marriages are perfect. Once you have met your true love, time and situations might separate you apart, but for a lifetime that one person will remain inside you.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Is there an ideal person? As someone who is single, once in our lives we create these hopes of an ideal partner we were praying for every single night. Some pray for a prince charming, which will make them feel like a princess. Others wish for someone compatible with their mental capabilities and passions. As for myself, I always pray for someone who is passionate as me in terms of my hobbies and interests. Like “Lord, bigyan mo naman ako ng partner na mahilig magsulat o yung may alam sa photography. Ok din yung mahilig mag travel, kahit hindi ganun ka-attractive pwede na sa akin basta matalino.” In reality, love is a feeling we will just feel no matter who the person is. Believe me, even the ugliest person in the world, if that emotional reaction will come, we could never stop it.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Third, the most complicated one: Can we not feel love for a person who is in a relationship or married? They say love is a choice but really? Some of us right now condemn people who choose to have relationship with taken ones. We often judge affairs and other women without looking at their scenarios. Not all of us are the same. Some are so weak enough to run away from love. When you are in love, nothing is right or wrong; sometimes we will do everything, never mind the dangers, the people for the person we love. At times, we have no choice, love came and conquered us.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>Second Question: Is there a right love for all of us?<o:p></o:p></b></span><br /><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">My answer is YES. That so-called “right love” is not someone who checks us 24/7, neither the one who could give us the moon and stars nor the one who could cross the seven seas for us. The right love is the person we feel complete with. He is the person that could make us feel secured, happy and contented without doubts. The person is right when we see ourselves fulfilled by his presence, by that we would not look away no matter what happens and when we do, either not by choice, should we question ourselves “Is this still right?”. Love is right when you see yourself with that person in the future, no one else.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>Third Question: Could we stop love from happening in the beginning?<o:p></o:p></b></span><br /><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">NO. Well, I charge it to experience. No matter how you condition yourself and say “Hindi ako maiinlove. No way.” It will come to you like a thief in the night, then you will wake up one day, your heart is beating fast and you are lost. No matter how you say to yourself that you are not ready or hard hearted, if it will come, it will.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">We never could control love. All we can do is handle it in a way that we won’t let it consume us, change us or make us attached from our selves. Loving someone would bring us happiness and inevitably, heartaches as well. In the end of the day, we have the choice what to do to manage ourselves. Not all love does have happy endings but I believe that verse in 1 Corinthians 13:8 “Love never fails.” We may not end to be together with the one we love with that once in a lifetime person, whom will be I our hearts for a lifetime, but true love won’t ever fail and if it does, it is not love at all.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">If ever you are in a situation where you feel broken or being bugged by an unexpected love, just always remember that God put us where we are now because He has a purpose. We may never know it by now, but I do believe someday, in the right time and place, He will. He gave us these people we love for a certain purpose. Heartbreaks are inescapable, but prayers help. Surrendering our hearts and the future to God is the best thing to do. Lately, someone told me “Why fate does give us these people? There is probably a reason.” Being lost and confused are normal, what I have learned today is that you should understand that not all things go in perfect place we want them to be but we could create own our place where things may go well because we value them. These people who came by were blessings, no matter how they came or who they are. Their status or situations should not hinder us to know and feel that love we have for them. There goes that old saying by Alfred Tennyson “Better to have loved than never have loved at all.”<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">-faf</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><br /><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div></div>Flordeliz Fullohttps://plus.google.com/102574953688984309187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283704.post-81073740606460939712015-03-08T17:03:00.001-07:002015-03-10T16:01:26.582-07:00[Sports] DLSU's Ara Galang Shook the whole Philippine Volleyball Community and Social Media after having Major Injuries<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ypL9A48V1Rg/VPzfwqpJ_CI/AAAAAAAAIrg/8qGchyDdhj0/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ypL9A48V1Rg/VPzfwqpJ_CI/AAAAAAAAIrg/8qGchyDdhj0/s1600/1.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">In pain.<br />[PHOTO CREDITS: Mr. Josh Albelda. In this country of conservative values and religious culture, are we Filipinos now ready to revolutionize the modern societal point of view of the kind of love between same gender persons who are struggling just to be accepted and love freely without contempt?</span><br /><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span><span style="line-height: 115%;">Released as an independent film under Cinema One Originals, written and directed by Connie Macatuno, this motion picture have all the sincerity to touch, teach and reach our hearts by a love story between two women with different lifestyle and environment; how they faced the consequences that nearly crashed some important aspects of their live and the people around them. To accept it or not, our country is still not in wide open hands to embrace these kind of relationships mainly because of our deep religious influences throughout the centuries. This is reality and as it happens, same sex love may be viewed by some as queer but its presence in our modern world should not be disrespected nor be condemned. This film is a brave effort to show us Filipinos that these situations exist not just in other countries but in our own. They found a soulful connection they have never experienced with anyone before resulting in mixed emotions of falling in love and identity crisis. Juliet (Andrea del Rosario) is a simple and sweet gal who is in a relationship with Marc (Rafael Rosell), a domineering, respectable but loving man who proposed marriage in the midst of crisis undergoing in her family. Her longing for that feeling of security praying to find her soulmate, the one she would be spending her life forever. After his marriage proposal, she then thought it was really him that she prayed for. As the story progresses, conflicts started to arise in their relationship like their difference of social class and her inhibitions about his dominance regarding her hairstyle preferences and choices of not having a child for the mean time. I wonder what is with bride-to-be-Women that lesbian films were focused on those scenarios. In my point of view, these kind of situations requires important choices by choosing if you will stand up for what you really are or just keep quiet and go with the flow of what people view as normal and accepted, to fight for things or someone that you know would make your life complete and happy overcoming those clashing anxieties and emotional turmoil to be free.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">One of the important parts of the movie was that love scene. It happened on the night that they were both vulnerable; there was intense passion as they kissed and touched each other. Could it happen in real life? I say yes. After that night, situations and the people around them went into chaos. The church scene where they talked and confessed what they feel for each other really touched the empathy in me, melancholic yet romantic. Juliet stated choosing to marry Marc because it was the acceptable in the eyes of people although Rome was telling her of wanting to spend life with her. That talk never really ended it all. Now sure of what she feels and a desire to win Juliet, Rome made an effort to stand in front of others and expresses her love for her by an endearing speech, they kissed. When Marc caught them in an intimate scenario in Rome’s place, things got harder for Juliet and she still told him that she wants to marry him.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">To avoid so many spoilers, let us just continue with the review. The ending is good and for me it did not disappoint and was fully justified, though you have to watch the ending credits too because there is a scene found in the middle (the most important one). The production and the creative team should be really commended for pursuing this project. The two actresses really nailed it. Mylene exhibited so much sensuality in her scenes from the way she smiled to that scene where she was in the poetry session reciting her love while Andrea, setting aside her sexy image as an actress portrayed Juliet with justice and her simple plainness of her visage in the film added more appeal especially whenever she reads the poems and the endearing script with the capability to reach the viewers’ heart and soul. No wonder why they earned awards and nominations.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Also, I have seen a lot of symbolism that made this indie flick so sensible. From Juliet’s diary, symbolic of her deep thoughts, desires and emotional struggles, her deep soul searching of what she really wants to find. Second are the flowers. In one of the first scenes, Rome said that those could make a woman smile the reason it could evoke emotions, to heal and to feel love. We would also see a lot of flowers in some scenes like that moment Marc proposed giving them together with a ring. Third is Juliet’s hair, her fiancée’s dominance was shown whenever he commands her to tie it while deep inside it was against her will. The beaded bracelet symbolizes of Juliet’s growing love.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">This film was shown nine years ago and I don’t mind how late it is to give a movie review now. Overall, the movie is great in all its elements. As one of the breakthrough lesbian films in the Philippines, I recommend this to the LGBT community and to those straight people who want to understand this kind of love, the people who by chance have this situation to face and be accepted as same human beings who have the right to feel and express love the way they want to. -faf</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>MAIN CAST:</b></span><br /><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b><br /></b></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Mylene Dizon as <i>Rome</i><o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Andrea Del Rosario as <i>Juliet</i><o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Rafael Rosell as <i>Marc</i><o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Tessie Tomas as <i>Charo<o:p></o:p></i></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;">Glydel Mercado as <i>Lia<o:p></o:p></i></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>DIRECTOR:</b>Connie Macatuno<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>WRITERS:</b>Connie Macatuno, Chris Violago<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>PRODUCED UNDER:</b> Cinema One Originals<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>NOTABLE AWARDS:</b><br /><br /><i><b>[Winner] Best Actress:</b></i> Mylene Dizon (Cinema One Originals Film Festival 2006)<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b><i>[Winner] Best Production Design </i></b>(Cinema One Originals Film Festival 2006)<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b><i>[WINNER] Best Screenplay</i></b> (Gawad Urian Awards 2007)<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b><i>[WINNER] Best Supporting Actor:</i></b> Rafael Rosell (Gawad Urian Awards 2007)<o:p></o:p></span><br /><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span><span style="line-height: 115%;"><b>MY RATING:</b> 4/5</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><br /></div>Flordeliz Fullohttps://plus.google.com/102574953688984309187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283704.post-71236475638013913892015-02-24T14:53:00.000-08:002015-03-04T03:02:20.978-08:00PLDT Ultera Brings Volleyball Fans and Supporters Closer to their Favorite National Team Players and Sport in General Trias Cavite<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K2Brs28Zhss/VPLrUy-71yI/AAAAAAAAIo0/AHlLf-Obe8k/s1600/10530697_1060759683934751_7637016315511012111_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K2Brs28Zhss/VPLrUy-71yI/AAAAAAAAIo0/AHlLf-Obe8k/s1600/10530697_1060759683934751_7637016315511012111_n.jpg" height="388" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Heads up to Team Amihan and Bagwis National Volleyball Teams! We had Smart Gilas Team Pilipinas that got it big on FIBA and the Philippine AZKALS Football Team that rocked Asia and made Filipinos proud. Now, Volleyball is rapidly winning each of our hearts. Let us give credits to the fantastic and highly talented collegiate players of UAAP (University Athletic Association of the Philippines) and NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association of the Philippines) and the experienced and very </span><span style="line-height: 18.3999996185303px;">skillful</span><span style="line-height: 115%;"> players of Shakey’s V-League. In the midst of poverty and calamities, OFWs sacrificed leaving their motherland just to provide more income and sustain their families in the Philippines. As they say, in almost every country, there were Filipinos working and we might feel a little homesick but for sure there were <i>kababayans</i>scattered everywhere.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 115%;">So what are the qualities we Filipinos do possess that make us a huge part of a work force abroad? Please give me this moment to explain. Back in season 74, we saw this sweet humble rookie playing like a pro, no wonder she won the ROY from the start of her playing years. Her greatness today had been expected by some of us in the past and is not surprising as her hits on the court. We remember how cute and sweet she smiles on her braces back when she was younger to a very captivating sexy smile she gives us today and whenever that happens, our hearts melt in chaos of <i>kilig </i>and faster heartbreats. To add, her humility and quiet but excellent qualities are exceptional. She may be different compared to some of the girls in this list in terms of her outlook and preferences but my reason of why she topped my list is that she has this thing of capturing the hearts and attentions of not just boys but girls as well. Whenever I browse the comments of her Instagram posts, statements of admiration and even sexual identity crisis were all that I see and I can’t blame them. That is one thing that makes her exceptional among other girls.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">Some aspects of being a winner, requires hardwork, dedication and learning but seeing Ara? From the early 19th century, European food chemists innovated cocoa and its extract was then used to make the modern chocolate we know. Here in a middle eastern country, everybody loves sweets and they always give chocolates as gifts, consume in snack time and is widely a popular ingredient in baking. Yesterday, one of our patients gave this truffles collection as a gift and I would say that the taste is excellent and classically sweet.<br /><br />The box contains of three flavors of chocolate truffles: Dark (My favorite), White and Milk Chocolate. Sweetness is sinful. Obviously, there is a high sugar content so here I am advising you to take it on moderation. You will love the soft truffle inside as the taste will conquer and make your taste-buds on a high. This would be perfect to give on your lovers, family members or eaten in celebrations.<br /><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ODuFu-C6-Oo/VNu-sHY1RQI/AAAAAAAAIgQ/CCg3nroLxW0/s1600/10968257_10153049153419547_819725078_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ODuFu-C6-Oo/VNu-sHY1RQI/AAAAAAAAIgQ/CCg3nroLxW0/s1600/10968257_10153049153419547_819725078_n.jpg" height="234" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The box collection our patient gave weights 1.62kg in net weight and 12 x 135g in commercial. Well, like other cliche, she underwent into so much hardships and failures as she tried her luck in a different environment. By chance she saw a Burlesque club, setting her feet into a world where sensual and artistic performances were a living. Like the usual success tales, she was rejected, then tried again working as a waitress and when Tess (Cher) challenged her to perform like she owns the stage, the start of her sparkles came in. Seeing her memorize all those dance steps and songs is a great wonder to me. Cher and Aguilera, were a great pair because they have their names in the music industry. Christina's voice is so powerful with all those high notes plus great choreography would make the viewers entertained. The impeccability of club scenes and musical numbers including to that of Kristen Bell's were really fantastic with regards to the costumes, the stage and the dancers.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fr8x-p9KfSY/VNk_PEvsgLI/AAAAAAAAIf8/AmM5s9qGwRM/s1600/capture-20150210-004159.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fr8x-p9KfSY/VNk_PEvsgLI/AAAAAAAAIf8/AmM5s9qGwRM/s1600/capture-20150210-004159.png" height="142" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Of course we could experience the drama revolving around the lives of our two women protagonists. Tess is having a hard time thinking how to save the club who had been a sentimental part of her life. In the midst of all her adversities, Ali came like a savior angel who by her talent and voice, gave new changes to the performances in the club because she can sing live. In the end, Ali is a hero by finding about the air rights and Marcus' evil plans to build a skyscraper making the contractor buy the air rights above the club. On the other side, while on her flourishing career, Ali was in the middle of attraction to Jack, her knight in shining armor who saved her homelessness and one of the main reasons why she had the chance to stay at the club as a waitress. When an infatuated Marcus lifts her up and gave her a gift, Jack tried to tell her that some people were just into her because she is famous. The theme of the movie is all about pursuing your goals and to overcome difficulties. These two woman have their struggles and adversities and what is common about them is that they were fighting. One is passionate and driven to make her dreams come true and would gamble for chances and the other one is fighting to prevent the most important thing in her life from vanishing.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; text-align: left;">The love story of Ali and Jack for me is commonplace but sweet. Comedic parts were infused, I like the scene were Jack repeatedly said good night and end up making love with her.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Overall, I would say that this movie is great regarding the songs and dance numbers that we would not forget the quality of songs and performances. The acting were not that superb but we should thank Christina and Cher's voices for bringing nourishment to the film that it made the movie soundtrack an A quality. Smith</div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>Date of Release:</b> April 2, 2013, Jennifer E. Smith Inc.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://images.indiebound.com/823/212/9780316212823.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://images.indiebound.com/823/212/9780316212823.jpg" height="200" width="132" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal">The story is about two young teenagers whose affections broke the line between the worlds of fame and being kept. Graham Larkin is a superstar, in the other side he is just like any other ordinary adolescents. He fell in love and experienced things beyond the silver screen for an ordinary girl he met in the cyber world. Ellie has this red hair and passion for poetry whose mother is persevering just for her to Harvard. The mother and daughter have dark secret which made them run away years ago to prevent her father, a politician from ruining his career. Yes, they were the illegitimate family until her mom decided to take her away and go far away from his father. What would it be like when these two worlds: One, succumbed into the people’s attention and the other one, must hide from the world? In a very modern but almost unimaginable way, they met online, become friends and developed intimate feelings which would encourage Graham to choose Maine, the state where Ellie lives (and his family too at the moment) to be their place of setting for their movie shoot. When they met, there were unexpected commotions of emotions, confusions and realizations.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>ABOUT THE CHARACTERS:</b><o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">The characters were very modern. These times one of the uses of the internet is to connect with people, including strangers no matter where we are in the world. Fate made these two young people to accidentally meet through e-mail, the rest of the story follows. Is it possible for two young people to truly to fall in love in the world of worldwide web? They resemble teenagers though in different world, have something within their hearts, things they want but they do not know, deep ones that could make them happy.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">In the story, Graham was this young boy, famous, rich and admired by many as an actor, in the novel, it is said that he loves his career and would rather continue than pursuing his education as advised by his parents while Ellie, an ordinary girl, not rich and is a “nobody” compared to him is a young lady who dreams of meeting her father someday. To see your father on television and you cannot go see and get near him because he is unreachable and is prohibited by fate and even doesn’t even know you are kind of sad and lonely things. Trying hard to survive a fatherless life with a goal to enter college and save and there comes this Mr. Idol who at the end saved the day and her future.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><b>ABOUT THE PLOT:</b><o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal">The story has a lot of commonplace elements. I would say that it has this usual storyline where Mr. Great falls for Ms. Nobody then they have to endure everything. This suits young readers who are dreamy and hopeless romantics who fancy knights in shining armours ready to save damsels in distress. For the cyber friendship, the author infuses norms of modern present society that is so much into modern technology and the way we could make the world small by e-mails, chatrooms and social networks. The fantasy of meeting someone great online and finding true love, in this scenario, it happened to two different people who became friends and shares their thoughts in their everyday lives.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">On the deeper side, Ellie’s mother disagreed to continue her blossoming connections with Graham the fact that she was afraid the Press (the world) would discover who they were and avoid what consequence it could inflict to them and her father. There is a very short time frame if Graham finding out the secret, then why did the senator try to do so? Did he happen to have an effort to find them or just secretly support her daughter even though her mother hides her from him? For sure he has these connections and power. The climax that I expected is that the senator and his long lost daughter would have the chance to talk and acknowledge each other than what happened in the book that she just shook hands with him as a stranger. That moment was her chance, her first and maybe the last to tell him who she really was.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">The ending I would say is realistic though in a sense that Graham was still Graham and Ellie, due to his love for her was financed to go to Harvard to study. The author did not close the story if they ended up as lovers together or not; the ending just showed that it was not the end because they will still e-mail each other. What does happy looks like? As the title asks the readers, it is about contentment and feeling complete for whatever life brought or might bring for us.<o:p></o:p></div><br /><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div></div>Flordeliz Fullohttps://plus.google.com/102574953688984309187noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283704.post-91266678122572984992013-11-16T02:38:00.000-08:002013-11-16T02:38:01.321-08:00Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda): What could a typical netizen do to help?<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="MsoNormal">Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda): What could a typical netizen do to help?<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">International typhoon Haiyan (also known in the Philippines as Yolanda) devastated the South East Asian nations such as Micronesia, Southern China, Vietnam and the Philippines. The second deadliest typhoon that killed an estimated number of 3,633 people and still counting, destroyed houses and properties and collapsed transportation and communication lines in the country. Arriving with strong 10-minute sustained winds of 230km/hr, the terror of the days between November 3-11, 2013 broke the hearts of Filipinos as evidenced by the bodies of casualties on the streets, lost children searching for their parents and vice versa, extreme starvation and lack of clean water to drink and destroyed shelters. The boyband made impact to the world of music with their sweet to live pop songs and even their covers and remakes. To the adult to young adult women of today's generation, these lads were prince charmings who serenaded their radio and ipods and so were the concert grounds all over the world. All things they say should come to an end for the better and just last year, they decided to disband and go on separate ways and one of them is their front man who possesses amazingly powerful voice, Shane Filan. Just last September 28, 2013 at SM North EDSA Skydome, the nightingale lad graced his Filipino fans for the fifth time but as a solo artist promoting his album. There were a hundred lucky fans who had a chance to meet him face to face before his performance. </span><br /><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span><span style="text-align: left;">The event started at 6PM, with a front act from acoustic artist Sabrina. Shane serenaded the crown with his first song "Everytime" from his "Everything to Me EP". Girls from every age stages shouted and screamed due to the ecstatic and euphoric mood. The night ended with the song "Everything to Me", hi debut song. Following that was the autograph signing that completed the day and made fans' hearts tattooed with happy hearts. -faf</span><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span><span style="text-align: left;"><br /><br /><br /></span></td></tr></tbody></table></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Recently, I tried to look back and I saw the world which I am not existing anymore, the world that became my world once, it shattered me. From that moment, I promised myself to never ever look back and continue running along this rocky journey. After the star studded motorcade and opening ceremony, players from different teams competed in the very tough 3-Point Shootout game. Darling of the masses and one of the newest and most popular rookies, Chris Tiu of Rain or Shine Elastopainters was one of the power cast participants and viewed as the dark horse of the said competition. Tiu had won in various the same championships when he was still playing for the elite Ateneo Blue Eagles in UAAP-NCAA All Star Games but winning in this contest gained him numerous praises and added admiration from basketball fans and enthusiasts.</span></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cJMzCiX10sU/UZ0uOqO10XI/AAAAAAAAF-s/qHBieM4MBWw/s1600/215322_641769765838249_1412114234_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cJMzCiX10sU/UZ0uOqO10XI/AAAAAAAAF-s/qHBieM4MBWw/s400/215322_641769765838249_1412114234_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Photo Credits: Mr. Nuki Sabio for PBA Images [No Copyright Infringement Intended]</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1n9E9PcgtS8/UZ0urqmVkUI/AAAAAAAAF-0/A8nt1Y9-NkA/s1600/20f2179e-fa31-40da-949a-ab4ba9c259b9_PBA-IMAGE4-2-.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="361" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1n9E9PcgtS8/UZ0urqmVkUI/AAAAAAAAF-0/A8nt1Y9-NkA/s400/20f2179e-fa31-40da-949a-ab4ba9c259b9_PBA-IMAGE4-2-.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="font-size: 13px;">Photo Credits: Mr. Nuki Sabio for PBA Images [No Copyright Infringement Intended]</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>After being away from the ball since their team’s loss on a knockout quarterfinals game versus Ginebra, his morning shoot around at Camp Genesis added by confidence and good form paved his way to winning the 3-Point Shootout Crown. He scored 17 points in the elimination which also happens to be his legendary jersey number from Eagle days, Smart Gilas days to playing as an Elastopainter, a good omen to consider. From ancient tablets, to papyrus and scrolls then came the modern paperbound. Books should be considered treasures for their importance in many aspects of our learning, leisure and career growth. They have this sentimental values to their owners. In this rapidly progressing technology we have nowadays, this essential hobby was also being innovated in the form of electronic reading wherein publishers are now eager to also publish modernized electronic books we call “E-Books” in the form of a computer/digital file with formats varying on the Electronic E-Book Readers they are compatible with e.g. the popular PDF format for Adobe Reader, the EPUB format for Apple iOS devices and the very fast spreading MOBI files for Amazon Kindle/Kindle devices. As an avid reader and a blogger, I weighted their PROs and CONs and what method should we choose to use. With the question of “What is much better?” we will try to dissect their capabilities and values in this blog article.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">PAPERBOOKS: Sentiment and Physical Attachment</span></b></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/544881_10150779749684547_227757579_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/544881_10150779749684547_227757579_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My old books from textbooks to novels.</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><br /><br /><b>PROS: </b>Owning a physical hard paperbook no matter how much the price is like owning a piece of treasure. After a long period of time when you look at your old closet, cabinet or storage room and see your old Mathematics textbooks or your first fairy tale book would make you feel a sense of connection with your past. One thing that could make us attached to a paperbook is its cover and paper, admit it or not, the colorful images and letters in a book cover is one factor of why we were attracted on buying them and it feels different turning paper pages and seeing your reading progress by looking at the thickness of remaining pages. With these factors, these books’ value lasts. They are physically yours that you could pass them on your grandchildren and friends. They are also convenient to people with vision problems and physical limitations.<br /><br /><b>CONS:</b> Compared to E-Readers that could contain thousands of E-Books, paperbounds are heavy and they are sometimes burdensome for an avid reader to carry on travelling. You may bring one or two but you can’t carry much when you’re on a mountain hiking or skiing. When not taken care very well, they could be eaten by mice, cockroaches and be physically damaged by rain or flood.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><b>E-BOOKS: HANDY AND TECHIE</b></span></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/944157_10151580171624547_2072889114_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/944157_10151580171624547_2072889114_n.jpg" width="180" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My EPUBs.</td></tr></tbody></table><b>PROS:</b> For people who are always on the go and techie-geeks, owning an E-Reader and putting lots of E-Books on it feels like heaven. You can think that you’re carrying a huge library on your pocket or bag and can read them while you’re on a vehicle, waiting for someone in the mall or just strolling in the park. The price of E-Books today is slightly cheaper than paperbooks. Some aspiring authors tend to focus on winning the eye of the masses than to seek paperbook publishers and wait for ages.<br /><br /><br /><b>CONS:</b> Some says that the problem is you only buy the license from the publisher for you to have permission to read the content but you can’t legally pass the rights to others. There is a feeling of sentimentality on a paperbook and deep connections as they say could not be found on E-Books. In the aspect of technology evolution, let us face this fact that when time pass, old methods would be replaced including E-Book formats and E-Readers, let us just pray that if this happen, they could provide a way to convert old format books to new formats because we paid for them.<br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">MY VERDICT</span></div><br />I would choose both. Though I am now more on E-Books because of their handiness and affordability, old paperbooks are like old teachers that we could put on shelves and our bedside table. E-Book readers are electric devices that could not remain alive if there is a brownout or power shortage. Both have PROs and CONs but beneficial and important.<br /><div><br /></div></div>Flordeliz Fullohttps://plus.google.com/102574953688984309187noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283704.post-45782735248546899362013-04-01T15:54:00.001-07:002013-04-01T15:57:33.223-07:00Cavite and its top ranked Tourism<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br /><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; line-height: 115%;">History, Nature and Adventure – these are the three things that sum up the historical capital of the Philippines’ tourism. Cavite indeed is the home of important milestones of the country’s rich history from being the birthplace of national independence to its rich bouquets of cultural festivities and remarkable contribution to revolution during the Spanish era. Its name is derived from <i>“kalawit”</i>which means <i>“hook”</i> in relation to the peninsula hooking the Manila Bay. Working in a foreign land is very promising and could make you earn more but it has sad aspects too. Are you one or planning to be one? Here are the three essential factors when you are planning to spread your wings to work on a foreign land.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><i><b>1.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Your Heart:</b> </i>Working outside of the country would means temporary separation from your loved ones, pet, room, hobbies and culture you have. Being prepared emotionally is a must and essential because surely, you will feel the homesickness on your first few months of stay in the other country. You will miss the people and the usual things you get along with every day of your life so before you decide of taking the risk be sure to think if you are purely ready to leave them for quite a long time because it will cause conflicts on your work and stay if you are disturbed by thoughts of loneliness and longing. Don’t forget to always pray for your loved ones.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><b><i>2.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Your Mindset:</i></b> As connected to number 1, you should also prepare your mind that you will now face new environment, stressors and people. Things would be different now and you should really think of how to survive and focus on your work. Your mind should be programmed that you are leaving to work, be good on you work and do this for your future. Optimism and patience should be your keywords.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><b><i>3.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Your Body: </i></b>Before leaving you should make it sure that your body is healthy and fit. You will be working now in a different environment so you will encounter different climate, foods, water and products. The body must stand these changes to survive, work well and prevent sickness which could compromise your quality of work. -FAF</div><div><br /></div></div>Flordeliz Fullohttps://plus.google.com/102574953688984309187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283704.post-61161648931696935792013-03-07T03:25:00.001-08:002013-03-17T03:33:02.920-07:00[Concert Review] What Time Is It: 2PM Live in Manila<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><object height="360" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://pf.kizoa.com/sflite.swf?did=4173431&k=4801684"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://pf.kizoa.com/sflite.swf?did=4173431&k=4801684" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="480" height="360" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object><br /><a href="http://www.kizoa.com/slideshow/d4173431k4801684o2/what-time-is-it-2pm-live-in-manila"><b>What Time Is It: 2PM Live in Manila</b></a> - <i><a href="http://www.kizoa.com/">slideshow</a></i><br /><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-t-rYnSBRzec/UTh1rZFaSzI/AAAAAAAAFHs/6yKtJ-OBv9c/s1600/2pm-live-in-manila-poster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="165" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-t-rYnSBRzec/UTh1rZFaSzI/AAAAAAAAFHs/6yKtJ-OBv9c/s400/2pm-live-in-manila-poster.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lX0ZPDctxgs/UTh7Z8kJAbI/AAAAAAAAFH8/zu2KQuwVocs/s1600/734537_10200853933850551_254751967_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lX0ZPDctxgs/UTh7Z8kJAbI/AAAAAAAAFH8/zu2KQuwVocs/s320/734537_10200853933850551_254751967_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Hotness overload! Last March 02, 2013 at the Mall of Asia Arena, sizzling boys from Korea conquered the hearts of thousands of “The Hottest” (2PM Fans) in the Philippines. Performing in Manila as the first stop of their “What Time Is It” world tour, the boys absolutely made the MOA Arena crowd breathless. Their hot visages were not just eloquent to melt thousands of their pinoy fans, they were also oozing with talents and charisma. Some of the very notable scenes/performances were Chansung’s tearing of his shirt in the middle of singing “Love You Down”, Taecyeon rapping and playing as a DJ on “It’s Time”, Nickhun’s amazing “Let it Rain” while playing the piano that melted most hearts of the audience, Wooyoung’s superb dance steps and his funny “Pakitong Kitong” which made the crown sang joyfully. There are sub feelings relating into it, the main one is the happiness. Whenever we are with our special someone, we feel secured, happy, excited and twisted and even his/her slightest look could make us berserk. But not all love stories are requited and blissful at all. In reality, people with mutual love for each other are very lucky but how about those whom experiencing one sided love, breakups, death or loss of a partner? To feel love is to endure also the pain. They said that love was not true if you don’t feel any pain relating to it. Some pain could last an amount of time but some strong people cope up and move on easily, I could say it depends on the psychological strength of a person.</div><div align="left"><br /></div>How to overcome bitterness when you’re stagnant and feels like you can’t even know how to stop yourself from feeling the pain?<br /><br />Here are some of my personal tips:<br /><br />1. <strong><span style="font-size: small;">Talk to God and reflect on His words</span>.</strong> Praying might sound boring for some modern day youth but it is God who knows the real purpose of the pain and if you communicate with Him, your burdens will lessen. He knows what is best for us. Reading the scriptures could also help. Whatever religion or faith each of one does have, for sure our sacred books contain texts related to love and moving forward, we just have to keep them by heart.<br /><br />2. <b>Make yourself busy.</b> Being busy with things you like or would like could help lessen excessive thinking that could make you unmoved with those heavy emotions. Putting up your mindset into useful channels could also make you productive as well. Doing simple household chores, going out with friends or grooming a pet are examples.<br /><br />3. <b>Try something new.</b> New things would also make you forget painful things little by little as you began to explore the world around you. Having a new look and hairdo, new book to read and new hobbies are such good examples. The world is so huge and life is short, there are no reasons not to explore and enjoy.<br /><br />4.<b> Write.</b> Not all of us loves pen and paper or blogging but whenever you're stressed or have no one to talk to, you can have your own diary to open up all unwanted emotions you feel or at least make a blog post of a poem or essay but be sure to take care whenever you post something personal on the internet. One day, when you have already recovered, read them again and definitely, you will smile or laugh.<br /><br />5. <b>Meet new people.</b> There are millions of fishes in the sea, so why focus on one that is already caught, dead or swam away? Making new friends makes you feel comfortable and have fun. There are online dating sites out there or even friends of friends, you can meet people whom you have similar interests with like in a book club if you love books or fans club if you were having the same favorite celebrities. Organizations for a cause also provides more exposure to different people. Please do beware or take care because we don't know them so we have to secure ourselves in meeting new friends.<br /><br />6.<b> Forget the past and cherish the present.</b> It is true that forgetting painful heart aches takes a lot of time but we have to let go even those good memories associated with them if they would just make us feel unhappy knowing the reality that they would never ever be the same again or come back. If we live in the shadows of the past, our lives will not move forward causing our lives to be dull and chained. We should make the best our present lives because our future would depend on what we do today.<br /><br />7. <b>Forgive someone who caused you pain as well as yourself.</b> In forgiving someone, you are also releasing your inner conflicts with yourself. Anger is unhealthy and would cause us to be bitter, hate the world and not trust other people. We live in an imperfect world, we may never fully forget what they have done, at least in our hearts, all those hatred were washed away. Forgiving ourselves is also fundamental in a sense that how could be forgive the person, the situation if we can not forgive our own selves? There are plenty of time to start again and to become stronger and wiser, we just have to think that things have already happened and we cannot go back to that time and situation anymore. -faf</div>Flordeliz Fullohttps://plus.google.com/102574953688984309187noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31283704.post-42237496132992685422013-02-24T15:00:00.000-08:002013-03-17T04:26:07.631-07:005 Centimeters per second [movie review]<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OUfGB_ksKH8/USntMvexoWI/AAAAAAAAFCQ/px59T6ZBiQQ/s1600/5_Centimeters_Per_Second_poster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OUfGB_ksKH8/USntMvexoWI/AAAAAAAAFCQ/px59T6ZBiQQ/s1600/5_Centimeters_Per_Second_poster.jpg" /></a></div><b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b><b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><object class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="http://3.gvt0.com/vi/Gs6hmjeyQ8M/0.jpg" height="266" width="320"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Gs6hmjeyQ8M&fs=1&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Gs6hmjeyQ8M&fs=1&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Title:</span> </b>5 Centimeters per second (English); Byosoku 5 centimeters (Romanji)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Directed By</b>: Makoto Shinkai</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Written By: </b>Makoto Shinkai, Steven Foster, Alex Von David</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Producer: </b>Noritaka Kawaguchi</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Released on: </b>March 2007</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><span style="font-size: large;">Cast</span>:</b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Kenji Mizuhashi</b> as Takaki Toono</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Yoshimi Kondou</b> as Akari Shinohara (Segment 1)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Satomi Hanamura </b>as Kanae Sumita (Segment 2)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Ayaka Onoue</b> as Akari Shinohara (Segment 3)<br /><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div><br /><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">How long would you wait for someone to be back when you know it had took you almost a lifetime of waiting, longing and being stranded in a world you created deep inside your heart? This anime movie adaptation of a manga/novel by Makoto Shinkai moved not only my heart but my soul as a person who loves and values friendship so much. The story encapsulates rich and realistic emotions from the colors, crisp graphics to its heart-warming soundtrack which gave me last song syndrome for weeks. Unlike other anime movies, this one has a lot of essence because of its realistic story all of us could relate and fetch viewers’ attention until the very last minute of the film even though it yields a not-so-expected ending for romantic viewers.</span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>First love never dies?</b></span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><br /></b></span></pre><pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Do you guys agree to this famous thought? Adolescence is a stage where we were developing not just physically but also emotionally and mentally. The two characters met and established a close bond earlier of this stage so no wonder they became emotionally attached when time went by. Looking at the angles of them having only just each other as companions and do not mingle with other younglings within their age, feeling comfortable being just together and him always protecting her, their sudden separation was super stressful yielding more outburst of emotions which is longing.</span></pre></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Young love is truly magical with all its innocence and sincerity.</span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></pre><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab234/kel-k828/takakiandakari.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="112" src="http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab234/kel-k828/takakiandakari.png" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">He and she.</td></tr></tbody></table><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The kiss captured my inner senses, never watched an anime kissing scene that affected me this much. Symbolic is that cherry tree for which at the start they always run in front of it going home from school, the heartfelt kiss on that stormy winter night and the presence of it in the last part when they crossed paths with each other again. Also, not all young loves remain constant and ends in happy endings because this was just the first except for Tono who became fixated on his feelings. I really was annoyed with him on the second segment where he always that kind of a deep teenager staring always at the sky with paralyzed eyes. Maybe it is because I can relate with Kanae more because I too experienced her shoes once upon a time.</span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></pre><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww161/RAINBOWSa9/5%20Centimeters%20per%20Second/1280-by-960-142362-20080812032035.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="235" src="http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww161/RAINBOWSa9/5%20Centimeters%20per%20Second/1280-by-960-142362-20080812032035.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Reading the letter again beside the Cherry Tree.</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp127/69iheartboobies/Anime/5%20Centimeters%20Per%20Second/5cm5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp127/69iheartboobies/Anime/5%20Centimeters%20Per%20Second/5cm5.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Stopped by to check if it was her.</td></tr></tbody></table><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Yes, his love is so strong but for years, he did not look at other girls nor let it go? Good thing he managed to be strong enough in the end to kill all that bitterness and move on. As for Akari, I have read in the manga that she confessed still loving him but she bid farewell through a letter too and that she will always love him, he cried. As we can see, deeply she still had her feelings about her childhood friend but she is getting married now, maybe she was just considering her future and not just to be stranded by memories, we see her not so sad that she didn’t end up with Tono because she knows that life goes on, I conclude that she loves her future husband too and happy with him. First love really never dies but not all will end up the way they dreamed of.</span></pre><div><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div><pre></pre><pre><b><br /></b></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>Development of Technology:</b></span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></pre><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://ephemeraldreamer.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/5-centimeters-per-second-bluray-mkv_snapshot_00-52-01_2011-01-30_15-20-53.jpg?w=900" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="221" src="http://ephemeraldreamer.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/5-centimeters-per-second-bluray-mkv_snapshot_00-52-01_2011-01-30_15-20-53.jpg?w=900" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Akari's letter.</td></tr></tbody></table><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></pre><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_md91lwuMwx1r79mxmo1_500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="195" src="http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_md91lwuMwx1r79mxmo1_500.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Saying sorry.</td></tr></tbody></table><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">As we can see, the story started in early 90s as young children to early puberty and the modes for communicating from a long distance were typically through a snail mail and old style telephone lines. Being on the same generation, I could say that love/friendly letters are much more sweeter and more exciting than today’s e-mail, social networking sites or video chatting despite the convenience, receiving a sincere hand written letter moves the heart and you can keep it on your cabinet too or under the pillow with the thrill of imagining how the sender wrote it with appreciation of his/her efforts. I began to fall in love with the story at the first segment when two childhood friends exchange letters especially when Akari’s letters were being narrated. On the negative side, it was indeed a hindrance of the two characters to communicate after the two of them moved into farther places. When Tono's letter was blown by the wind and Akari's letter was kept for years because she failed to give it to Tono- these circumstances wrecked their romantic bond. If they lived today where smart phones and social networking sites dominates the world of sharing and keeping in touch, maybe they could still be together now. With just one search on Facebook, Skype or even people finder sites, Tono could have found Akari not considering her choice to move on with her feelings after they parted ways. The film exhibited the development of technology from those mailbox days to cell phone age. We, indeed are so lucky now living in the world of modern day methods of communicating and socializing.</span></pre><div><br /></div><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">About the Ending:</span></b></pre><pre><b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></b></pre><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2392/2492988456_55a1af08a2_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="221" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2392/2492988456_55a1af08a2_o.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">After a long time, they got close to each other again.</td></tr></tbody></table><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">For me the ending was not a sad end at all. When they crossed their paths each other again and almost recognized each other, they stopped but a speeding train appeared, we could clearly say that Akari never mind if it was Tono she have seen or not while he on the other side waited but smiled when the woman he saw disappeared failing to check if it was really Akari. I love it when he smiled because it says that he is now ready to move forward into life and start to live outside of his haunted romantic love for her childhood friend for years. He had been imprisoning himself due to that fact that he never had the chance to tell her that he love her when they parted while she had managed to move on with her new life while she was just entered a new high school. At the end of the second and first segments there are parts of me wishing they could meet again in the end like every other happy-ending-up-together movies, never had planned reading the plot before watching. Though the characters did not end up together, there is still that twist of positivity and learnings that in life, not all lovers who love each other so much would end up together and fate may have something in store for us in the future different from what we wish, hope or expect. It teaches us that life is sometimes not fair and we have to choose to be happy even if it means letting go of something that we know would make us happy. Being stranded like Tono makes us view life dimly and fixed when there are lot of things or people within our reached that could make us complete if we just take a look at them.</span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br /></b></span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b>Some parts of Akari's letter to Tono that was never given:</b></span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></pre><pre><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">“From now on, I will have to learn how to live on well by myself, even though I’m not confident that I can.
