The Light Beyond Chaos

Swimming through the lake

of my thoughts and memory;

That second day of July,

you came by

as the start of a reverie;

In just a snap,

my stubborn heart caught off guard

to yet another story;

Like a thief in the night,

you effortlessly held it captive—

that it was not free.

The lightness of your being

gave so much laughter into my soul;

Every time I am with you,

there is a warm light

beyond the chaos around.

The kindness of your heart

is indeed an inspiration,

so rare to be found.

You just don’t know

how much it matters to me,

to pray that you are safe and sound.

There were times

of profound intense weighing,

sadness and confusion;

To halt the seemingly agonizing dilemma

of this swaying emotion;

In the middle of fighting the reality

over the ego’s commotion.

But how?

To leave this tiny piece of bliss

of the connection?

The friendship that we have

is more than any form of treasure;

The very thing I hold so dear

in spite of the world’s pressure.

To protect and hold

with all the strength

between the certain and unsure.

Throughout time,

the unconditional soft spot,

in my heart, I ensure.
